Genesis 19: Lord, if indeed from Thee I know

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 9 (1870)

Religion

Lord, if indeed from Thee I know
I cannot my own helper be,
Thy strength in utter weakness show,
Thy grace miraculous in me:
Me from my bosom-lust restrain.
By perfect love's indwelling power;
And I shall never sin again.
Shall never grieve Thy goodness more.
