Exodus 7: Truth prevails, and conquers all

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 9 (1870)

Religion

Truth prevails, and conquers all,
Like Aaron's rod-devouring rod;
Sin, the world, and Satan fall
Before the church of God.
So, when the Saviour shows His face.
And in our hearts vouchsafes to shine,
Our sins are swallow'd up by grace.
Our creature-loves by love divine.
