Exodus 23:2: Better be wise among the few

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 9 (1870)

Religion

Better be wise among the few.
Than with the many stray,
Than a mad multitude pursue
Down the destructive way:
While millions, blind in sin, rush on,
Like Lot in Sodom dwell,
And rather go to heaven alone,
Than with a world to hell.
