Numbers 14:44: Who the strength of God distrust

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 9 (1870)

Religion

Who the strength of God distrust
Will in their own confide,
On their own destruction thrust
By selfishness and pride:
Marching up without the Lord,
Smitten before their foes they fly.
Fall on the destroyer's sword,
And unbelievers die.
