Deuteronomy 6:7: Father, instruct my docile heart

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 9 (1870)

Religion

Father, instruct my docile heart.
Apt to instruct I then shall be,
I then shall all Thy words impart,
And teach (as taught myself by Thee)
My children in their earliest days.
To know, and live the life of grace.
