Saviour, my nature's pride to' abase,
Thou oft hast seem'd my soul to leave.
Withheld the comforts of Thy grace,
And suffer'd me to pine, and grieve:
But when Thou dost my pride destroy,
Thy sweetness I shall always prove,
And fill'd with righteousness, enjoy
The manna of Thy perfect love.
