Therefore with Angels, &C

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

From Hymns and Sacred Poems (1739) · Osborn ed., vol. 1 (1868)

Religion

Lord and God of heavenly powers,
Theirs — yet, O! benignly ours,
Glorious King, let earth proclaim,
Worms attempt to chant Thy name.

Thee to laud in songs Divine
Angels and archangels join;
We with them our voices raise,
Echoing Thy eternal praise:

"Holy, Holy, Holy Lord,
Live by heaven and earth adored!"
Full of Thee, they ever cry,
"Glory be to God most High!"
