Deuteronomy 32:39: I kill, and I make alive
From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 9 (1870)
Religion
Thy killing and Thy quickening power,
Jesus, in me display.
My life of nature, from this hour,
My pride and passion slay;
Then, then, my utmost Saviour, raise
My soul with saints above
To serve Thy will, and spread Thy praise.
And sing Thy perfect love.
