1 Samuel 7:9: SINNERS, behold the sacred flame
From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 9 (1870)
Religion
SINNERS, behold the sacred flame
Ascending from the slaughter'd Lamb,
The Lamb of God for Israel given,
Who oflers up Himself to heaven;
Mix'd with the smoke His prayers arise,
And God accepts the sacrifice.
