Psalm 17:8: Hide me

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 9 (1870)

Religion

Hide me from the wrath of God,
From the hell reveal'd Avithin,
From the soul-afflicting load,
From the tyranny of sin:
Bear me to that land of rest,
Land of sweet forgetfulness.
Grant me, Lord, my one request,
P'inal, everlasting peace.
