Isaiah 32:2: Eternal Rock, project Thy shade

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 9 (1870)

Religion

Eternal Rock, project Thy shade,
Extend to me Thy friendly aid.
While at Thy foot, a sinner I,
Weary, and spent, and dying He:
Cover'd by Thee, my soul would rest
With pardon and salvation bless'd,
Till through Thy riven side I rise.
And see Thee fill both earth and skies.
