Matthew 3:9: God is able of these stones to raise up children, &c
From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 10 (1871)
Religion
Supreme, incarnate Deity,
Display Thy sovereign power in me.
Stone into flesh Thou canst convert,
A slave's into a filial heart:
Speak; and begotten by the word,
I magnify my quickening Lord,
Though dead in sin, I rise forgiven,
A child of grace, an heir of heaven.
