Matthew 8:31: The devils besought Hivi saying,...Sniffer, &c
From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 10 (1871)
Religion
Bound in chains of hidden night.
Stragglers from the' infernal pit.
Devils cannot wreak their spite.
Till our sovereign Lord permit:
Jesus covers us and ours.
Who on His great name depend.
Limits hell's malicious powers,
Saves His people to the end.
