Matthew 10:11: The character a servant bears

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

Religion

The character a servant bears
He for his Master's sake maintains,
Regardless how on earth he fares,
If placed as Providence ordains:
From house to house he never roves,
Urged by a light voluptuous mind,
But sent by Him whose work he loves.
He runs, and leaves himself behind.
