Matthew 14:22: Who waits for the applause of man

Who waits for the applause of man
He loses his reward from God:
Thy prosper'd servants, Lord, constrain
To fly when we have fed the crowd;
Drive us away reluctant, hide
Our souls from all the baits of pride.
