Matthew 14:31: Saviour, when the storm is high

Religion

Saviour, when the storm is high
And madding passions press.
More on them I fix mine eye.
Than on the power of grace;
Justly then Thou might'st the power
Withhold from this weak infidel.
Leave me in the dangerous hour.
And bid me sink to hell.

But Thou dost send forth the light
And comfort of Thy word.
Strengthen by Thy Spirit's might.
And bid me own my Lord:
In my nature's helplessness
The greatness of Thy strength I prove,
Lifted up with large increase
Of humble faith and love.
