Matthew 26:16: When once we let the tempter in
From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 10 (1871)
Religion
When once we let the tempter in
And cast our God behind,
The opportunity to sin
Sure as we seek we find:
Satan the' occasion will present,
Lead to the pleasing snare,
Employ his forward instrument.
And plunge us in despair.
