Matthew 27: Witness to the truth He bears

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 10 (1871)

Religion

Witness to the truth He bears
Which sets His prisoners free,
Simply to the world declares
His own Divinity:
This His good confession was,
That we His kingdom might confess.
All the virtue of His cross.
And all the strength of grace.
