Matthew 27:51: The earth did quake, and the rocks rent
From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 10 (1871)
Religion
Saviour, let Thy dying love
Its virtue still exert.
Earth to its foundations move.
And break the rocky heart:
Sinners by Thy passion shake.
The most obdurate spirits rent.
By Thy death the dead awake.
And bid the world repent.
