Lord, if Thou giv'st the hearing ear,
The faith that works by love.
Thy word we cautiously shall hear.
And carefully improve;
Savour of life it then shall be,
Thoughts, words, and actions leaven,
And build us up complete in Thee,
And give us thrones in heaven.
