Mark 9:3: The image of the earthy now

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 11 (1871)

Religion

The image of the earthy now
The death we in our bodies bear,
And daily on His cross we bow,
The kingdom of our Lord to share;
The image of the heavenly Man,
Our bodies, spiritual as His
In that sabbatic day shall gain
With fulness of immortal bliss.
