Lamb without spot, who didst give up
Thyself to worrying wolves a prey,
Thou art Thy suffering people's hope:
With us in our temptation stay,
Nor leave Thy church to Satan's power.
Nor let the sheeplike wolves devour.

The persecutor's rage restrain
W ho tears Thy church with cruel scorn,
Baffle the furious wrath of man.
Or strangely to Thy glory turn,
Into a lamb the wolf convert,
And bless with a new meeken'd heart.
