Luke 22: Who did His servant's fall foretell
From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 11 (1871)
Religion
Who did His servant's fall foretell,
Forbids us to confide
In fervoin-s we this moment feel,
In strength of faith untried;
Wherefore to Him we leave the heart
He only can defend.
And trust He will His grace impart
Till war with life shall end.
