Luke 23:45: Eclipsed the Sun of Righteousness

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

Religion

Eclipsed the Sun of Righteousness,
His light and life extinguish'd are,
To make the reign of darkness cease,
The veil of shadowy types to tear:
The living way to joys above
Discover'd by His death we find;
It shows our hearts the truth of love,
It opens heaven to all mankind.
