John: I Teach me. Saviour, by Thy grace
From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 11 (1871)
Religion
I Teach me. Saviour, by Thy grace
To answer Thy design,
When the threatening world to face.
And when their rage decline;
Far from rashness as from fear
I would not, Lord, myself expose.
Would not shrink from danger near.
Or dare, or dread my foes.
