John 7:18: A Teacher sent from God designs
From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 11 (1871)
A Teacher sent from God designs
Jehovah's glory, and declines
Whate'er might raise his own;
To' exalt his heavenly Lord, he seeks,
In honour of his Master speaks.
And lives for God alone.
O that I thus with upright aim
May magnify my Saviour's name,
And only seek His praise;
j Iy truth and faithfulness approve.
Saved by the power of perfect love
From all unrighteousness!
