Hymns on the Lord's Supper, 148
From Hymns on the Lord's Supper (1745) · Osborn ed., vol. 3 (1869)
Father of mercies, hear
Through Thine atoning Son,
Who doth for us in heaven appear,
And prays before Thy throne;
By that great sacrifice
Which He for us doth plead,
Into our Saviour's death baptize,
And make us like our Head.
Into the fellowship
Of Jesu's sufferings take
Us who desire with Him to sleep,
That we with Him may wake:
Plant us into His death,
That we His life may prove;
Partakers of His cross beneath,
And of His crown above.
