Hear what the wise and learned say!
"This Man pretending to do good.
To show the blind their heavenly way,
And teach the' illiterate multitude.
The sabbath He profanely breaks.
And contrary to order speaks."

We hear, but cannot think with them,
Or to their bold assertions trust,
Or from appearances condemn
Blindly implicitly unjust,
But Jesu's ministers receive;
And thus the praise to God we give.
