Acts 15:6: The apostles and elders came together for, &c
From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 12 (1872)
Religion
Jesus their true and constant Guide
Had promised with the church to stay,
In His unerring Spirit to' abide
And lead them in the perfect way:
Yet dared they not the help refuse
Which nature's God did first bestow,
Who will'd them all the light to use
That reason sanctified could show.
