Acts 27:43: Happy loss of liberty

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

From Short Hymns on Select Passages of the Holy Scriptures (1762) · Osborn ed., vol. 12 (1872)

Religion

Happy loss of liberty,
Which men with saints endure,
Captives your deliverer see
And rest like Paul secure,
Through a prisoner of the Lord
Preserved from the tempestuous main,
From the peril of the sword
Ye live redeem'd again.
