James 2:6, 7: Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you, &c

The rich in every place and age
Have shown their antichristian rage,
Eager, impatient to condemn
The virtue which reproaches them,
And 'crush, whoe'er to God belong,
By violent, or by legal wrong.

We still experience them the same,
Blasphemers of that worthy name;
The pious poor they vex and tear,
And judge at their unrighteous bar,
Arid use their utmost power to' oppress
The truth, and all its witnesses.
