Love

Madame withouten many wordes

by Sir Thomas Wyatt 1503–1542

From The Poems of Sir Thomas Wiat (ed. A. K. Foxwell, 1913)

Love

Madame withouten many wordes
Ons, I am sure, ye will or no :
And if ye will, then leve your bordes
And use your wit, and shew it so :

And with a beck ye shall me call ;
And if of oon that burneth alwaye
Ye have any pitie at all,
Aunswer him faire with ye or nay.

If it be ye, I shalbe fayne :
If it be nay, frendes as before ;
Ye shall an othr man obtain
And I myn owne and youres no more.
