James Aldrich

1810–1856

James Aldrich (1810–1856) was an American poet, and has no connection with the better-known Thomas Bailey Aldrich. He is remembered almost entirely for one short poem, “A Death-bed”, widely reprinted in nineteenth-century anthologies.

Little is recorded about his life, and this archive makes no claim beyond his dates and the single poem Knowles printed.

  2. Morn at Sea
  3. My Mother's Grave
  4. A Spring-Day Walk
