Joseph Brownlee Brown

Joseph Brownlee Brown (1824–1888) was born in Charleston, South Carolina, graduated from Dartmouth and died in Brooklyn, New York. He wrote for The Atlantic Monthly, and ill health kept him from fulfilling the promise of his youth.

His poem "Thalatta! Thalatta!" appears in Stedman's An American Anthology (1900).
