Henry Bernard Carpenter

Henry Bernard Carpenter was an Irish Unitarian clergyman, orator, author and poet, educated at Oxford; his written works were principally in verse.

The dates given here, 1840–1887, are those printed in the 1917 anthology. The poems printed here are those given in The Oxford Book of English Mystical Verse (1917), edited by D. H. S. Nicholson and A. H. E. Lee; the text is taken from that anthology.
