Cavyll

fl. 1559

Cavyll (also printed Cavil or Cauyll) is known only by the name signed to two tragedies in A Mirror for Magistrates, those of the two Rogers Mortimer and of the Blacksmith and Lord Audley. Haslewood gives no dates or Christian name for him.

The poems here are taken from Joseph Haslewood’s 1815 reprint of Part III.

  1. The Fall of the Two Rogers Mortimer
  2. The Wilful Fall of the Blacksmith and the Foolish End of the Lord Audley
