Robert W. Chambers

1865–1933

Robert William Chambers (1865–1933) was an American writer and illustrator, born in Brooklyn, New York, who became a popular novelist; his best-known book is the weird-fiction collection The King in Yellow (1895).

He is not to be confused with the Scottish publisher Robert Chambers (1802–1871). His comic dialect poem “The Recruit” is printed in Stedman’s An American Anthology (1900).
