Chang Chih-ho

c. AD 750

Chang Chih-ho (c. AD 750) was a Taoist philosopher who held office under the Emperor Su Tsung. Exiled for some offence, he became a lonely wanderer and called himself the “Old Fisherman of the Mists and Waters.”

The poems here are L. Cranmer-Byng’s version in A Lute of Jade (1909), given with the poet’s name as spelled in those books.
