Aleister Crowley

1875–1947

Aleister Crowley (1875–1947) was an English occultist, ceremonial magician, poet, novelist and mountaineer, and the founder of the religion of Thelema.

The poems here are early pieces; the footnotes that explain their Qabalistic allusions are not reproduced. The poems printed here are those given in The Oxford Book of English Mystical Verse (1917), edited by D. H. S. Nicholson and A. H. E. Lee; the text is taken from that anthology.
