John Cutts, Lord Cutts

John Cutts, Baron Cutts of Gowran (1661–1707), was an English soldier who served under William III and Marlborough, nicknamed “the Salamander” for his courage under fire.

He also wrote occasional verse, collected in his Poetical Exercises (1687).
