Der Guter

Der Guter was a late thirteenth-century poet whose verse on the vanity of the world draws on the legend of the knight and Dame World.

One of his songs appears here in Frank C. Nicholson’s translation, Old German Love Songs (1907), made from the minnesingers of the twelfth to fourteenth centuries.
