Wolfgang Christoph Dessler

Wolfgang Christoph Dessler (1660–1722) was a German hymn-writer whose “Mein Jesu, dem die Seraphinen” appears in the Herrnhuth Collection and in Knapp’s Evangelischer Liederschatz.

The single piece here is John Wesley’s English translation, printed in Hymns and Sacred Poems (1739); Osborn’s footnote names Dessler as the author of the German original.
