Richard Watson Dixon

1833–1900

Richard Watson Dixon (1833–1900) was an English poet and clergyman, and a correspondent of Gerard Manley Hopkins.

The poems here are taken from Alfred H. Miles (ed.), The Poets and the Poetry of the Century (London: Hutchinson, 1891–1897), vol. 5, from the Internet Archive scans of that edition. Spelling is that of the anthology; Miles's biographical essay and extracts from longer poems are omitted, and only poems that could be read cleanly from the scan are included.
