1872–1926

Eva Gore-Booth (1872–1926) was an Irish poet, born at Lissadell House in County Sligo, and the sister of the revolutionary Constance Markievicz. She worked for women's suffrage and for working women's trade unions in Manchester.

Her poetry, mystical and often set in the Sligo landscape, was admired by Yeats. The poems here come from Untermeyer's Modern British Poetry (1920).
