Hermas
Hermas was a Roman Christian, a freedman by his own account, who wrote at Rome in the first half of the second century AD, perhaps between about 100 and 150.
His book, The Shepherd, is made up of visions, mandates and parables (similitudes), in which a figure in the guise of a shepherd instructs him on repentance and the life of the Church. It was widely read in the early Church, and some Christian writers treated it almost as scripture.
