James A. Hillhouse

James A. Hillhouse (1789–1841) was a Connecticut poet of New Haven, author of the dramatic poem Hadad (1825) and the poem The Judgment.

Griswold included 1 of his poems in The Poets and Poetry of America (16th edition, Philadelphia: Parry & McMillan, 1855), the anthology from which the poems here are taken.
