Islwyn

1832–1878

Islwyn (William Thomas) was a Welsh poet and Calvinistic Methodist minister of Monmouthshire, who took his bardic name from the hill above his home and is sometimes called the Welsh Wordsworth.

A passage from his blank-verse poem "The Storm" is given in English by Alfred Perceval Graves in A Celtic Psaltery (1917) as "Behind the Veil".
