Jabir ibn Hunayy

Jabir ibn Hunayy of Taghlib is unknown apart from this poem. Lyall says he belonged to the Christian faith the tribe accepted after its emigration to Babylonia, and was a remote kinsman of al-Akhnas.

The poem must be dated after the first battle of al-Kulab, and probably after the slaying of King 'Amr ibn Hind in A.D. 569.
