Henry Kingsley

Henry Kingsley (1830–1876) was an English novelist, the younger brother of Charles Kingsley. He spent about five years in Australia in the 1850s, which supplied the material for his first novel, The Recollections of Geoffry Hamlyn (1859); Ravenshoe (1862) was another popular success.

He wrote little verse; the ballad "The Blackbird's Song" is the one poem of his printed in this anthology.
