Rudyard Kipling
Rudyard Kipling (1865–1936) was an English author born in Bombay, awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1907, whose verse gave voice to soldiers, machines, and the British imperial experience in vigorous, ballad-like rhythms.
Poems such as If—, Gunga Din, and Recessional made him one of the most quoted poets in the English language.
